Andrle, Jakub ; Litera, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Horák, Slavomír (referee)
This study deals with the current demographic situation of the Russian Far East and tries to assess the main patterns of migration in the region. The work is structured in five chapters. The first chapter aims at defining the Russian Far East geographically and concentrates on the most important features of its economy. The second chapter is devoted to region's rapid depopulation since the beginning of 1990s. This part analyses the dominant demographic trends within the district and tries to describe the prevalent patterns of migration on its territory. The third chapter presents a brief historical overview of the colonization and resettlement policies towards the Russian Far East. The main goal of this part is to evaluate the overall effectivity of both tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union in their efforts to populate their easternmost periphery and secure the border with China. The fourth chapter deals with the problem of Chinese migration to the Russian Far East. Rusko-čínské ekonomické vztahy a jejich vliv na Rusko
Lapenko, Aleksei ; Žamberský, Pavel (advisor) ; Jedlinský, Jakub (referee)
The establishment of first diplomatic and economic relations between Russia and China has relatively short historical roots despite its geographic proximity. Nevertheless, the substantial growth of trade and investment cooperation between countries gained momentum in the modern time after the fall of the Soviet Union. The increased Russian production of oil and gas together with rise in its prices and rapid development of Chinese economy facilitated their economic interaction over the last decade. However, within last years, Russia faced with the external challenges in terms of slumping oil prices and geopolitical and economic isolation by the Western countries after the annexation of the Crimea peninsula. In this way, Russian government took a decision to make an Asian pivot towards the largest economy in the world - China and, thus, intensifying the already established economic ties. The further progress of Russian-Chinese partnership is going to be dependent on the implementation of the planned strategic initiatives and various external political and economic factors.

Institute of Political Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences This dissertation discusses the current and future role of China in the 21st century. I worked with the idea to prepare a systematically detailed analytical study of the country in relation to its surroundings as well as its internal environment for more than 8 years, including many interruptions. I, above all, contemplated about the way how to truly scientifically, i.e. credibly, it means in the maximum possible the limits of verifiability, develop a full work that could hold up to the colleagues from the scientific community and myself. It is logical it was and is my attempt to allow minimal possibility of any criticism of this work for its formal, content, or other deficiencies. First, I decided to analyse in some detail the currently known theoretical approaches and methods of study, not only in political sciences, especially those used by political geographers, but also in other related fields, especially in the field of study of international relations, sociology, political science or general security studies. I did not want to study the issue is the...

Černá, Veronika ; Maršálek, Jakub (advisor) ; Popelka, Miroslav (referee)
(in English): The Focus of this thesis lies on East Asia in the first half of the first millenium. The difference between true jades and pseudo-jades is explained as well as the physiological characteristics, source places and ancient techniques of jade-craft. Following chapter is focusing on regional history and the difference between advanced yet decaying Chinese Empire and the rest of the region. The societies on Korean peninsula and Japanese archipelago are far from centralized state. The cultural differences are to be seen in third chapter, since Chinese literature has already very long tradition. In Korea and Japan on the other hand the first written histories are being made during the course of first millenium. Last chapter follows another bit discrepancy between luxurious Chinese jade-ware and burial suits and simple magatama jewels in Japan and a Korea alike. There was discovered no connection between the chinese jade-working tradition and the rest of the region.
